My poor turnips look like shit because the greens are all getting eaten by some type of bug. The carrots on the other hand look gorgeous in patches :) Some of them have been eaten down to the ground too though :(

Broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts are all doing good! Unfortunately, they’re planted too close to each other :p This is three plants, lol.

My poor plants are all confused by this weather :( We’re having quite the warm winter! I have daffodils trying to come up but not flowering. As you can see, part of my lavender is turning yellow and dying while other parts are budding new lavender! My pomegranate tree which should be dormant right now is sprouting new leaves…and a couple of volunteer tomato plants have come up around the pomegranate tree from the compost I put in there. And in mid january, they’re still thriving!

Today has been one of the best days of the year yet :D And it’s been a pretty damn good year :p Know why? I planted my garden today!! Well the seeds at least. And I’m going bigger and better than ever before. I planted 32 plants. I’m having a little bit of anxiety because I plan on buying a house soon which means that I won’t have any seeds for my own house…or it’ll be too late to start them. But I can always buy transplants, right? I just HAVE to have my hands in the mud or I don’t feel right. Anyway, these are the seeds I started today:
- 1 striped eggplant
- 1 louisiana long green eggplant
- 1 black beauty eggplant
- 2 market more cucumbers
- 2 green long pod okra
- 2 jalapenos
- 2 ancho chili peppers
- 1 brandywine tomato
- 1 emmy tomato (yellow)
- 1 roma tomato
- 1 cherokee purple tomato
- 2 italian heirloom tomatoes
- 1 cherry tomato
- 6 lima beans
- 6 golden bantam corns
- 2 bell peppers
On top of that, I planted some peony bulbs and some dutch iris bulbs today along with a blackberry bush! So what are you planning for your garden this year? And have you started your seeds yet??
