The lavender is doing SO good this year and I’m loving the way it looks in front of the mums :) I swear, you can buy one pot of mums and have them forever!! Just keep cutting them and they’ll keep coming back. Just love the orange and faint purple together…may have to take these with me too :p Filling up the patio already!

I’m likely to be back to tumblr now that EVERYTHING IS COMING TO LIFE AGAIN!! I went outside today and the pomegranate tree is covered in leaves again and the lavender is purple again…and it’s february fifth…what is UP with that??? Oh well…I’m not really complaining :p

My poor plants are all confused by this weather :( We’re having quite the warm winter! I have daffodils trying to come up but not flowering. As you can see, part of my lavender is turning yellow and dying while other parts are budding new lavender! My pomegranate tree which should be dormant right now is sprouting new leaves…and a couple of volunteer tomato plants have come up around the pomegranate tree from the compost I put in there. And in mid january, they’re still thriving!

The lavender PLANT looks really good, but I sure wish it would flower :(

I made my own soap tonight!! So exciting :D I love this new more self sustained lifestyle. I made 16 oz. of patchouli soap and 16 oz. of lavender/peppermint soap. Added some hemp seed oil to it too for extra moisture.

I know it’s nothing special to most people and it’s a pretty common plant, but I love lavender SO much! It’s one of my favorite flowers for it’s scent and it’s appearance. Mine is just now starting to blossom…beautiful :)

I also made some bath salts this weekend!! Epsom salt, coarse sea salt, dead sea salt, patchouli oil, lavender oil and fresh lavender buds. Got 8 Ball jars worth! Put some in the etsy shop :D I just took a bath with some and I’m tempted to just keep it all for myself »

You’d swear it was the end of April down here or something. Everything is blooming so beautifully right now and coming to life left and right. My allergies don’t like it, but the rest of me loves it :) I put more stuff in the ground today and actually broke out a sweat while doing it. It was quite warm out today, but beautiful.
My grapevine is coming alive! It no longer looks like a stick sticking out of the mud….well it does, but it has little leaves coming out of it now :p I’m going to have to get it a trellis soon to climb on!
The dwarf pomegranate tree is also coming alive and I think I’m more excited about this than anything!! I cannot WAIT to have little baby pomegranates :D When I bought this tree, it literally looked like a dead tree. That was just last weekend. Now as you can see, it has beautiful little leaves popping up all over the place :) Soon to be followed by gorgeous red flowers and then pomegranates.
I bought these purple flowers a couple of weekends ago and I can’t get a picture that does them justice. They look so beautiful in the garden, but come out blue in every picture I take. They’re really a deep purple. I forgot what they’re called, but Proven Winners puts them out…at least the ones I got. Gorgeous!!
And here’s the rest of the flower garden :) I’m so glad I set aside one little plot just for flowers. As you can see, the tulips are all in bloom as is the hyacinth now! They’re just so gorgeous!! And that plant on the bottom left of the photo behind the tulip, I just got today. It’s called a “scent first passion flower”. And I can see why because it smells incredible! Can’t wait to see the flowers :) They should be a gorgeous red.
I also picked up some new lavender today too, but it’s rather boring right now as it has no flowers or anything, so I didn’t take a pic.
