dreaming of stuff

Started the garden beds for this year too…some of my own stuff in there, some transplants from nurseries. First bed has two cucumbers from my own seed along with six corn plants from my own seed and two eggplant from a nursery. The second bed has six lima bean plants from my own seed, three tomatoes from nurseries, one volunteer tomato from the compost, four bell peppers from nurseries and two jalapenos from nurseries. And more to come still!!

So I ripped out the zucchini today. I love zucchini, but it takes up SO much room. And I don’t have a lot of room :( I only have an 8x4 bed as my main garden and the zucchini got so big that it started to cover up everything else and the poor okra couldn’t get any sun. In it’s place though, I planted the 2 eggplant, 2 jalapeno, and banana pepper plant that I’ve grown from seed. They were getting rootbound in their containers.

What the garden looks like this week! I was seriously shocked when I saw it!!! So exciting :D I really just can’t get over how well it’s doing this year. And to think that this is just the START of the gardening season. We’ll be eating well this year :)
