I decided to go with two types of basil this year! On the left is your normal variety which I grew from seed sent to me from my friend Jeane..It’s doing AMAZING and I just love growing herbs from seed :) It amazes me to see these wonderful plants come from such tiny seed. The one on the right is a basil called Greek basil that I found at my local nursery. It has much smaller and thinner leaves and it’s smell is a little sweeter than the regular basil. Haven’t cooked with it yet, but I love it’s smell and it’s a really beautiful plant!

Today has been one of the best days of the year yet :D And it’s been a pretty damn good year :p Know why? I planted my garden today!! Well the seeds at least. And I’m going bigger and better than ever before. I planted 32 plants. I’m having a little bit of anxiety because I plan on buying a house soon which means that I won’t have any seeds for my own house…or it’ll be too late to start them. But I can always buy transplants, right? I just HAVE to have my hands in the mud or I don’t feel right. Anyway, these are the seeds I started today:
- 1 striped eggplant
- 1 louisiana long green eggplant
- 1 black beauty eggplant
- 2 market more cucumbers
- 2 green long pod okra
- 2 jalapenos
- 2 ancho chili peppers
- 1 brandywine tomato
- 1 emmy tomato (yellow)
- 1 roma tomato
- 1 cherokee purple tomato
- 2 italian heirloom tomatoes
- 1 cherry tomato
- 6 lima beans
- 6 golden bantam corns
- 2 bell peppers
On top of that, I planted some peony bulbs and some dutch iris bulbs today along with a blackberry bush! So what are you planning for your garden this year? And have you started your seeds yet??

One little zinnia plant managed to survive after I pulled all of the flowers up. It put out a beautiful little flower today :)

Zinnias are starting to die off and with that comes lots of seeds!! Lemme know if you want some seeds..I’ll have tons of them!
-
Can’t believe how fast these seeds are growing! Everything’s up except for the rhubarb and ground cherries…
-
Cut my first sugar baby watermelon and it was so good!! It’s the size of a grapefruit XD so cute! Saved some seeds! Sent me a message if you want me to send you some!!

The lemon tree that I planted from a seed has new growth! I though it had stopped :p I’ve heard though that if you grow a fruit tree from seed, you can expect it to take 10-15 years to bear fruit…that’s alright..I got that.

And then there is the coreopsis which are absolutely stunning! I love them so much. First year I’ve ever grown them. All of my flowers are from seed by the way…it’s just rewarding when they come up like that :)
